Trying to cope with it all can feel like trying to drink from a firehose. Drinking from a firehose is technically possible, but it's likely to get messy! Many of the businesses that we work with were started by engineers and scientists. So although the technology challenges are usually formidable, the founders are actually well-equipped to deal with them. The real challenge is all the other non-technical stuff – understanding what customers really need, building a team that can work together to deliver, bringing in non-technical skills, coping with the workload and stress – these are all people challenges. Most of us find those types of issues much harder to deal with...
